Gemstone sculpture - Bird of joy

Listen…

Can you hear her? If you do, is your mind filled with her sounds alone? Is your mind wiped clean of all otherworldly distractions?

When I look at this graceful gemstone sculpture, I grow silent. My eyes are drawn to her lovely face and breasts ensconced with the simplest yet most complementary jewelry. A royal crown? Her features are demure, almost translucent, and her eyes peer innocently at the sea into which she places her sacred egg.

Then I realize that she is transformed into a bird whose wings are soft and furtive. Their softness is contrasted by the large and formidable talons with which she both guards and gently releases her offering.

The waves are repetitious in designed: in a seemingly royal and crown-like base that solidly upholds the foaming sea, and repeated in luxurious and swirling purple waves. Slowly engulfing her fragile egg

The Alkonost is, according to Russian myths and folklore, a woman-headed bird. It makes amazingly beautiful sounds, and those who hear these sounds forget everything they know and want nothing more ever again. The Alkonost lays her eggs on a beach and then rolls them into the sea. When the Alkonost's eggs hatch, a thunderstorm sets in and the sea becomes so rough that it becomes impossible to traverse.

Where will you place this delicate piece? To whom will you gift this rare and beautiful female? Will you also hear her sounds? Contact me to discuss how you can personally hear her.
