Jade Sculpture -Infant
Jade Sculpture -Infant
Gold Award winner in the 2014 Zi Gang Bei International Jade Competition in Suzhou, China.
Siberian Nephrite with bronze (patinated) swaddle.
Base: Belgian Black marble.
Before the cognitive and ‘conditioned mind’ develops, all new born children are connected to and draw sustenance from Source, expressing purity, innocence and precious beauty.
‘Infant’ is the third in series of the eternal ‘child babe’, combining a bronze casting from the same pattern, finished in varying patinas, with various regional jades, each representing matching ethnicities.
I created this sculpture specifically as my first submission to the prestigious Zi Gang Bei Cup.
21cm high, 15cm wide, 17cm deep.
