The sculpture is carved in Armenian agate and carnelian: a fish with a broad, heavy head and thick lips, lying with its body curved and its tail swept round against its side. The scales are worked in a fine grid, the dorsal fin rises in spines, and the pectoral fin and the tail are finely ribbed. The head is mottled green and grey, the body and fins are pale and translucent with a few orange-brown spots, and the eye is amber-coloured.
Materials: Armenian agate, carnelian
Dimensions: height 8 cm
