King and Queen is a pair of crowned hearts, hand-carved in black and silver Russian obsidian and in rose quartz from Madagascar, with Tanzanian ruby and amethyst from Brazil, and metalwork in gold vermeil. The two stand on a base of agate.
The piece is about a partnership in which each makes up what the other lacks and the two balance one another: support through a setback or a bad day, loyalty that need not be doubted as long as it is met with appreciation, and the will to keep the other going.
