Multi-Gemstone Sculpture – Let Go
Let Go is a cabochon heart rising like a balloon from an open hand, hand-carved from a range of stones.
Letting go does not have to mean forgetting. It means releasing the power something has to affect a person badly, so that remembering it no longer brings the bad feelings with it; a thing can still be missed while there is room for better and more positive things. What is let go of and what is held on to shapes the course of a life: holding on too long to work that is not loved costs happiness and well-being, while letting go of it, frightening and sad as that is, opens the life to possibilities there was no room for before. Letting go of what is truly loved, or of what simply gives comfort, is difficult, and the piece asks for kindness towards oneself and forgiveness when it takes time.
Materials: labradorite, lapis lazuli, rhodochrosite, moonstone, carnelian, chalcedony, quartz, rutilated quartz, amethyst, indigo gabbro, tiger's eye, white opal, ruby, smoky quartz, aquamarine
