Kitsune is carved in black jade, white jade and half jasper, with silver: a figure crouching low in a black hooded robe, its pale pointed muzzle and amber-coloured eye showing under the hood. One pale hand grips a tall, gnarled metal staff with a crossbar at the top; the other reaches forward, its fingers curled like claws. The robe spreads in heavy folds over a black rectangular plinth.
