Seer is a life-size sculptural portrait carved in nephrite from Ogden Mountain, British Columbia, Canada. The headdress is cast bronze, patinated, and the base is white Carrara marble. The portrait was inspired by the features of a young African American woman and was originally carved in basalt; reinterpreted here, the presence of the face comes from the contrast of surfaces, the jade against the patinated bronze and the white marble.
Materials: nephrite from Ogden Mountain, British Columbia, Canada; cast and patinated bronze; white Carrara marble
Dimensions: height 61 cm
Available.
