Hidden Feeling is carved in quartz: a face behind two hands raised to cover it.
Everyone has something they do not want to show to anyone, so much so that even alone the face is covered with the hands, putting up one more barrier between what is outside and what is within. Even then the feeling can break out, in streams of tears through the fingers, and that is how the soul is cleansed of what hurts it, as ice melts in spring under the sun and life begins again.
The work took part in the Fourth All-Russian Contest of Authorial Jewellery and Stone-Cutting Art in Kaliningrad, Minerals of the World in the Art of Contemporary Artists (2018), where it was a laureate in the Mineral of Russia 2018 category, and it has been exhibited at the Fersman Mineralogical Museum. It is published in the catalogue The Best Artists of Russia 2020 by the Creative Union of Artists of Decorative and Applied Art.
