From the field to the collection

This remarkable group of Muonionalusta iron meteorites was recovered directly from the field during an organised expedition to northern Sweden in 2026.

Unlike meteorites acquired through dealers or assembled from different sources, these specimens share a direct and documented expedition provenance. Each was personally recovered from the landscape in which fragments of the Muonionalusta meteorite have remained hidden beneath Arctic soil and glacial deposits.

Muonionalusta is an IVA iron meteorite and a fine octahedrite, formed during the earliest history of the Solar System approximately 4.56 billion years ago. Its fragments have endured an extraordinary terrestrial history within the Arctic environment, shaped by ice, pressure, weathering and immense spans of time.

Together weighing approximately 300 kg, the collection preserves the individuality of each natural specimen. No two forms are alike. Their surfaces reveal deep weathering, fractures, dark metallic areas and sculptural contours created entirely by natural forces.

The importance of this collection lies not only in its substantial combined weight, but in its unity: a group recovered first-hand during a single expedition and preserved with its discovery history intact.

From the Arctic ground to the Gems & Carvings Collection — direct provenance, authentic discovery and matter older than Earth itself.
